Randwick Botany Harriers is currently raising funds for a complete set of facilities. They include a complete pole vaulting pit with mats, standards, bars and necessary equipment.
We are presently training at the ES Marks Athletics
Field on Wednesdays, 5:30pm. This facility is situated on Boronia Street, off Anzac Parade and is well served by public transport. Alternatively limited
parking is available on site or on Boronia Avenue.

Please contact us if in doubt as to the
most convenient place of training. |
Committed pole vaulters, not so with those that haven't yet chosen pole vaulting as their event, need a gym equipped with weights to train at.
Gym fees are up to the chosen institution. Phil has trained at a Fitness First
gym for the past 6 years. Fees come down by $5.00 for every member introduced and that policy works well both ways, for the gym as well as for the member.
Otherwise Bankstown Sports Athletics have a reasonable well equipped gym at the track. We can all use at no extra cost. It's fun and crowded during the winter conditioning season, I tell ya!
While we are not suggesting any particular membership, a gym is necessary for advancement in such a demanding event as the pole vault.
An apparatus gym with bars and ropes is always a good thing for pole vaulting, if you have access to one. |
