Olympic pole vaulter Kate Dennison has broken the British record at the Memorial Josefa Odlozila meeting in Prague with 4.51m.
The height set by Dennison on Monday, who broke the indoor British record of 4.46m in Birmingham in February, is within the A qualifying standard for the World Championships in Berlin in August.
Dennison, who beat the previous mark of 4.47m by Janine Whitlock in 2005, now wants more on Wednesday.
She said: 'I knew I was in good shape in training and I would have loved to have taken the bar higher but it was a low key meeting and the crowd had almost disappeared so I decided not to because you need crowd support when youre going for records. Theres a street meeting on Wednesday so Im going to stick around in Prague for that and hopefully jump higher.'
